[AR02] Nearly spineless purple artichoke with deep purple coloring and somewhat pointed shape, especially when young. Exceptional, flavorful and a bit more hardy for northern growers. Often called the 'Artichoke of the Aristocrats' in Italy. Pickled small they have no choke. Typical of the older heirloom artichokes, some plants will exhibit 'wild' characteristics. UNTREATED
