Here's a wonderful organic selection of the famous Catalogna Chicory. An erect plant with elongated leaves, very serrate, glossy green color, with white ribs. Chicory is known to have a hypoglycemic effect: causing a lowering of the glycemic levels. Chicory also has a fairly high content of calcium, phosphorus and potassium. The young shoots can be used like asparagus, or the 'dandelion' looking mature leaves can be harvested for fresh use or to be cooked.
