Sugar loaf type chicory
Favorite salad green. Crisp, tasty, not bitter,satin texture, decorative big leaves, yellow tight centers, not bothered by bugs (only voles), easy to grow, plant in July (Zone 6), harvest Sept. - Dec., handles frost to 20 F., and keeps for MONTHS in refrigerator. Can't believe gardeners & restaurants haven't discovered these beautiful greens.
